Krispie Super Soft Halloween Rice Treats, I'm a food blog

Hello! I'm back with some Halloween rice krispie treats dressed as Totoro, the adorable giant rabbit, cat, owl, and raccoon creature right out of the box. imagination of Hayao Miyazaki. These treats are delicious, cute, and perfect for a Halloween movie night where you're watching Totoro for the ten-thousandth time.

I feel like Halloween rice krispie treats are a Halloween tradition. I made some that looked like candy corn, pumpkins, and mummies. This is my first year making Totoro rice krispie treats. I love how they came out! They are so cute and taste great too. Rice Krispie treats are soft, chewy and crunchy – just the right ratio of marshmallow butter and rice krispie. I don't think I know anyone who doesn't love rice krispie treats. They are perfect delicacies, especially when they are homemade.

How to Make Super Sweet Rice Krispie Treats

  • Extra butter. Classic rice krispies calls for 3 tablespoons of butter, I doubled it to get just the right amount of butter to make these treats even sweeter.
  • Mini marshmallows. Use minis! They melt more evenly and give you a softer, fresher rice krispie.
  • Don't press too hard. Don't crush your treats! If you squish them too much, when they cool, they won't be as soft because everything will compact.
  • Eat them fresh. Fresh is best. They keep for a few days, but are sweeter the first day.
  • Store them at room temperature. Keep your treats tightly covered in a container at room temperature.

How to Make Rice Krispie Treats

  1. Melt the butter. Melting the butter over low heat is essential, if the heat is too high it will burn.
  2. Melt the marshmallows. Use the residual heat from the pan and butter to fold and melt the marshmallows.
  3. Add the krispies. Use a spatula to fold the krispies.
  4. Pat gently. Lightly tap the mixture into a saucepan, making sure not to crush it.
  5. Let stand. It's tempting to cut them right away, but let them cool for clean, crispy slices. Then decorate or eat as many squares as you like!

How to Make Chocolate Dipped Totoro Treats

  1. Doing your Rice Krispies, let them cool, then cut them.
  2. To melt Your white chocolate melts or white chocolate in the microwave. The microwave is ideal for melting chocolate, especially if you do it in small bursts. Microwave chocolate in a glass bowl in 15-second bursts, stirring until smooth.
  3. Spoon or dip. You can dip or dip your treats. If you're baking, hold the treat over the bowl and use a spoon to spoon over the melted chocolate a few times, then pat the side of the bowl to shake off any excess. This will give you a thicker, smoother coat. Or just dive in! Let the treats harden on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Decorate. Once the chocolate is hard, it's time to decorate :)
