I'm always looking for ways to up my egg game and I think these air fryer eggs did it. I LOVE eggs. Fried, boiled, jammy, sous vide, scrambled, give me all the eggs, all the time.
I recently found an amazing way to make hard-boiled eggs without water. Inspired by people who boil their eggs, I thought to myself, why not air fry them? I haven't tried boiling eggs in the oven, but an air fryer is like a mini oven and you don't need to preheat it, so I thought that was a win.
My life has changed. No more waiting for the water to boil and the eggs to sizzle perfectly every time. No water, just eggs and a deep fryer. We use our air fryer for a lot of things: fried chicken, tacos, steak, bacon, I guess it was only a matter of time until we used it for eggs too. Nothing could be simpler, just place the eggs straight from the refrigerator into the air fryer basket, put them in, and then forget about it. When the air fryer timer goes off, dip the eggs in an ice or cold water bath, peel them, and you'll be in egg heaven. I have made them at different times and they are the medium ones that I like the most, which is what I like to use in egg salad and as a snack.
How to fry eggs
How many eggs can I make in a deep fryer?
As much as you want! You can make one or up to 6. Just leave a little space between them so they have enough heat to cook evenly.
how do you like the egg?
I love you all! Every kitchen has a purpose. I love soft-boiled eggs on toast, candied eggs to eat on their own, and hard-boiled eggs for devil's eggs.
How long to air fry eggs
- Boil: For light whites and a very runny yolk, you need 9 minutes at 270°F.
- Half cooked : For medium hard-boiled eggs, medium firm whites, and candied yolk, you need 10 minutes at 270°F.
- Hard cooked: For hard-boiled eggs with firm whites and a completely set, non-chalky yolk, you need 13 minutes at 270°F.
Council
- Be sure to use eggs straight from the refrigerator so they cook evenly.
- Submerge the eggs in an ice bath to prevent them from cooking.
- Break them off at the large end, then roll and peel them.
Every fryer is different
Be sure to experiment with cooking times as each air fryer is a different size with different wattage and even the number of eggs you put in the basket will affect the cooking time. Try one or two eggs first, adjust the time, then go to town and cook ALL THE EGGS.
