Cookies with stars: decoration, gift or snack?

This year Christmas time It demands a great desire for home, warmth, and simplicity. Even if the snow has so far only fallen in the high mountains, the desire to get into the holiday spirit is great. What if cookies became more than just a delicious snack? Our chef Joelle Nederlants he recreated these khaki star butter cookies with a fairly simple recipe that brings happiness from the first bite. Star cookies

Time 1 hour plus 1 hour rest

Ingredients for 25 pieces

500 g flour 00
260 g caster sugar
200 g of donkey
80 g of coffee with milk
60 g of hazelnut flour
50 g of cocoa amaro
1 egg
baking powder for cakes
white sugar stars
salt - lemon

Procedure

Mix the 00 flour with the hazelnut flour, 160 g of powdered sugar, the cocoa powder, a pinch of yeast, a pinch of salt and the butter, continuing to mix until you get a sandy mixture; also add the egg and milk, cover the dough and leave to rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Roll out the dough to 3 mm thick and cut round cookies (ø 8 cm): you will get about 25.

Bake them at 180 ° C for 15 minutes.

Take them out of the oven and let them cool completely.

Mix 100 g of powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1-2 water, forming a sticky mixture; put it in a syringe or use a toothpick.

Spread 10-11 dots of sticky dough on each cookie, then place the sugar stars on top of it, pressing gently to stick together.

How to pack cookies

Once cooled and dry, place cookies, one at a time, in shiny acetate food-grade bags and seal with colored ribbons; keep the flaps long if you want to hang them on the Christmas tree.

With the addition of a small tag with the guests' names, you can also use them as a place card, a sweet thought to take home after the party.
