How to dry bread

Dishes like stuffing, French toast, and bread pudding can be inexpensive ways to give yesterday's bread a second life, but that doesn't mean there is always stale bread under your hand. Instead of buying a loaf of bread just to wait another day before getting your carb fix, try this simple trick for near-instant stale bread:

How to dry bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 ° F.
  2. Cut the bread into the size specified by the recipe. If your recipe doesn't call for crust, remove them.
  3. Arrange the slices or cubes in a single layer on a half plate. Do not season or coat the bread with oil.
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the bread is toasted and dry, but not golden brown.
  5. Use dry bread in your recipe.
