200 g of oat milk or other vegetable milk
8 g unsweetened cocoa
10 g potato starch

Procedure

Mix the milk with the well sifted cocoa and then add the starch, obviously sifted.
Without sugar and without sweeteners because the oat milk it is naturally sweet. Otherwise, use a sweet almond milk, or a teaspoon of erythritol (natural sugar without calories).
Put everything on a low heat and, stirring slowly and continuously with a wooden spoon, wait for the drink to take consistency.
In about 2 minutes, the hot, thick and buttery chocolate like the one made with chocolate will be ready.

Corn flour or flour?

You can substitute the starch with cornstarch and you will get exactly the same result.
We do not advise flour on your site as the taste and texture would be impaired.

No to sugar, yes to spices

For a light hot chocolate, we suggest that you do not use sugar, in addition to this because, as we stated, the vegetable milk it is already very often sweet.
If you want to add aroma and flavor, use spices, such as a bar of cinnamon mix everything as if it were a teaspoon, or a few drops of vanilla, or certain berries of cardamom if you like the aroma of this seasoning.

Coconut whipped cream

If you really can't avoid enriching your hot chocolate with whipped cream, try this alternative option.
Go for one night can of coconut milk in the fridge.
The day after, the part that has coagulated is taken and beaten to make whipped cream.
You will get a sweet coconut cloud, which will not be light because it still has a lot of vegetable fat, but it will be lactose-free and an exquisite vegan recipe!
Coconut and cocoa go really well together, so clearly you should try this variation as you will fall in love.
You can ornament it with coconut flakes either with a pinch of cinnamon or bitter cocoa.
